Will AI and Blockchain Technology Become the Center of the Future Economy? On October 23, 2024, DMTS 2024 'K-Ventures AI, Blockchain Smart Tech and Convergence' was held at KINTEX in Goyang-si, Gyeonggi-do. This event presented innovative technologies and business models that will lead the future of the digital economy through the convergence of AI, blockchain, and smart tech. Industry experts and business leaders discussed new technologies that will lead the future economy and focused on how these technologies can be applied to various industries.
DMTS 2024 is co-hosted by KINTEX (CEO Lee Jae-yool) and Blockchain Forum (Chairman Kim Ki-heung, Professor Emeritus of Kyonggi University), and major companies such as Kim Hyung-jung, President of the Korean Fintech Association, Seoul Labs (CEO Jang Do-hee), and IP Shop (Chairman Kim Jae-seol) participated.
In the first part of the opening ceremony, Chairman Kim Ki-heung gave an opening speech, Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang City gave a congratulatory speech, and President Kim Hyung-joong of the Korea Fintech Association and Chairman Kim Jae-seol gave congratulatory speeches. Following this, Antonin Marlier, Head of Asia, Allfeat gave a keynote speech on 'Blockchain and the evolution of music IP', and Jang Do-hee, CEO of Seoul Labs, gave a keynote speech on 'This is truly the golden age of blockchain.'
Part 2 consists of four sub-theme sessions. The first session on the utilization and service operation of AI and blockchain discussed how AI and blockchain technologies will be applied to various industries. Professor Yoo Soon-deok of Hansei University presented a plan to create a new market through the convergence of AI and blockchain, and CEO Jeong Jin-yong of Trvium explained how these technologies will bring about innovative changes in the new financial market. In addition, CEO Kim Jong-hyun of Data Labs introduced AI and blockchain application cases in the NFT-based art market and suggested ways to utilize the technologies in creative industries such as digital art. Next, CMO Lee Sae-mi of Wow Korea presented on the combination of AI and K-POP: the problems of idols, and Director Lee Cheol-heum of the Financial AI Data Center of the Korea Credit Information Services presented on the intersection: AI & Financial Industry—Korea Credit Information Services.
Lee Sae-mi, CMO of Wowkorea, said, “The meeting of AI and K-pop, the beginning of a new idol world” on the Ethereum platform, the production of the world’s first AI idol survival audition broadcast. In an era where AI leads the present and the future, a new wind is blowing in the K-pop A industry as AI technology is rapidly developing. The protagonist is the world’s first AI idol survival audition program planned by ‘AETHERIUM,’ a platform that manages AI idols. This program, which goes one step further than the existing idol system and incorporates AI technology to select a completely new type of idol group, presents a new platform experience where fans and AI idols communicate and grow through AI.
Web 3.0 and Cryptocurrency, Key Technologies to Open New Markets The second session discussed Web 3.0 technology and the future of the cryptocurrency market. Nam Gyu-min, Director of Seoul Labs, and Kim Su-nyeon, CEO of Real World Asset, presented how digital asset trading based on real asset tokenization (RWA) can build a new financial system. Kim Yoon-sik, CEO of SEES4, discussed how innovative technology can reorganize creative industries such as art. In addition, Jason Seo, Director of Deepcoin Labs, introduced specific cases of how blockchain technology can strengthen security and maximize efficiency in cryptocurrency exchanges.
The third session of the New Paradigm Forum for the Content Industry dealt with the changes in the content industry utilizing blockchain technology. Lee Hyo-seong, CEO of IP Shop, explained the changes in content consumption patterns through blockchain technology, and Kim Tae-gyu, CEO of Bisona, explained arbitrage strategies and use cases in the virtual asset market. Next, Lee Sang-yeon, CEO of LK Brothers, explained IP KEEPERDP.
The final session on the future strategy of global startups discussed strategies for startups to succeed in the global market. Lee Chang-woo, COO of Crosshub, presented on building a strong DID through zero-knowledge proof, followed by Kim Ui-ja, director of Lazydoo, and Hong Gi-jun, CEO of Zimpland, on O2O strategies for sports spaces. In addition, Ahn Hyo-in, CEO of Azenda, presented a model, and Seo Young-ha, head of the business planning division of the Daejeon Creative Economy Innovation Center, explained support policies.
Chairman Kim Ki-heung (Professor Emeritus of Kyunggi University), who co-hosted the conference, said that it sheds light on the future of blockchain and digital assets in the AI era, and the K-venture, AI, blockchain, digital asset industry, and content business models in the 'Web 3.0' era, which decentralizes power to individuals rather than existing large corporations and utilizes the web.
