Busan Digital Asset Exchange (BDX) and Malaysian digital asset exchange GreenX have joined forces to jointly discover and list real-world assets (RWAs).

On the 2nd, BDX and GreenX signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that aims to strengthen the synergy between the two exchanges by sharing global networks and forming a council to jointly respond to issues.

The MOU was signed by BDX CEO Kim Sang-min and GreenX CEO Phillip Tam, who held a meeting to discuss how the two exchanges will work together. The meeting was attended by Choi Joong-geun, Vice President of ITCEN, a BDX shareholder, Lees Hoon Lee, CEO of Credor, and Jun-sik Shim, CEO of Bion Media.

Through this collaboration, the two companies have joined hands to make mutual equity investments and build a strategic partnership with a long-term perspective. In order to take the lead in the global digital financial market, the two exchanges have pledged to strengthen cooperation in all business areas.

BDX, following Osaka Digital Asset Exchange (ODX) in Japan, sees the collaboration with GreenX as a step towards establishing itself as a global exchange for RWA.

"The collaboration with GreenX, which has a 1.9 billion Muslim audience with 'Shariah' certification, will help BDX achieve its goal of making Busan an Asian digital finance hub," said Kim.

Shariah certification is only available to companies that comply with Islamic law. According to BDX, GreenX is the only real asset exchange in Malaysia to have been granted a digital asset and token security (ST) exchange licence and Shariah certification by the Malaysian government in April last year.

GreenX explained that it is working closely with PWNU, Indonesia largest Islamic organisation to expand RWA Sharia Compliance Tokenisation. BDX also said the collaboration with GreenX will provide a bridgehead for its global expansion. GreenX has currently issued three tokenisation products: gold, battery technology patents, and ceramic tokens. It has also listed Tether (USDT), Ripple (XRP), Bitcoin (BTC), and Ethereum (ETH) as trading products.

"South Korea is the 10th largest economy in the world and a key player in the digital asset space," said Philip Tam, CEO of GreenX. "As a blockchain special zone in South Korea, Busan is an important partner for GreenX to collaborate and mutually develop with.

"We will actively cooperate with BDX to help BDX grow by sharing our operational experience with RWA, and we will continue to work with BDX at the highest level so that both exchanges can grow mutually and contribute to the economy."

Meanwhile, BDX, which is planning to launch in October, plans to secure quality RWA-based projects through the MOU with GreenX.
